Safeguarding (Consultation & Supervision)

Safeguarding

Managing safeguarding issues as a therapist in private practice can be tough and anxiety provoking. Our safeguarding lead is available to offer one off consultation as well as in depth supervision on a range of safeguarding issues. We also offer a range of safeguarding training specifically aimed at supporting therapeutic practitioners to feel confident and competent at managing safeguarding issues.

What services do you offer?

Our safeguarding advisor is available to offer support for any query or need you may have around safeguarding.

  • General Consultation: We can offer general consultation and advice on factors surrounding safeguarding and child protection issues. We can advise on and explain the links between adult and children’s services, statutory processes and your roles and responsibilities as a practitioner.
  • Focused Consultation: Where you have current concerns about specific cases, we can provide advice and support. Situations might include but are not limited to: disclosures of historical child abuse and disclosures of children at risk or harm.
  • Supervision: In addition to the above advice we offer supervision sessions (one-off or regular) to allow a safe space for wider discussion of both general and focused issues to allow reflection of practice including the limits to responsibilities, exploration of barriers to information sharing and how to navigate relevant safeguarding processes.
  • Safeguarding training: We offer a range of safeguarding training, tailored towards therapists working in private practice.
